Local Public Schools to Hold 2nd Webcast in Bi-Weekly Series: Public Schools in ACTion: A Roundtable Discussion with Local Leaders in Education

ACT for Education is pleased to announce the 2nd installment of its Public Schools in ACTion webcast series, which will be broadcast at noon on Thursday, October 15, at


For this week’s segment, local leaders will join together for a virtual roundtable discussion on “Safe School Health Practices in the Era of COVID-19.” Panelists include Dr. Michael Mendoza, Commissioner of Public Health for Monroe County; Jo Anne Antonacci, District Superintendent for Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES; Michael Pero, Superintendent. for Pittsford Central School District, and Dr. Casey Kosiorek, Superintendent for Hilton Central School District.


This webcast segment will address safe practices used in schools when dealing with infectious diseases in a pandemic. Panelists will highlight frequently asked questions, such as what happens when my child goes to the school nurse with a runny nose, how is Monroe County doing compared to other regions, and why don’t we need to immediately close schools if there’s a suspected case?


All webcasts in this new series are pre-recorded within 48 hours of the broadcast, then streamed on Though the webcast is pre-recorded, questions can be submitted through the live chat feature during the noon livestream.
