This week the HFLCSD nine member, elected, and fully volunteer Board of Education held a full day retreat to set goals for the upcoming school year.
Working at the HF-L Middle School Discovery lab the board began the day with a quick business meeting, followed by a full agenda created by the board president and vice-president. Topics included reviewing roles and responsibilities, sub-committee goals, district goals, and superintendent goals and work plan for the upcoming school year.
In the afternoon, the HF-L administrator's unit joined the board in workshop topics surrounding problem solving, an experience with visible learning practices, and time with the mission and vision statements for the school district. Finally, the board took time to discuss workshop topics for the upcoming school year.
