2024-25 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Calendar

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District has created a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Calendar to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation of diverse cultures, identities, and significant observances within our community. This calendar is not meant to be all-inclusive; rather, it is designed to reflect the numerous experiences impacting our students and families within the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District.

As outlined in Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District Policy 8360, the Board of Education acknowledges the importance of religion to the understanding of society and the richness of the human experience. In approaching the teaching about religion in the school, the District is guided by three principles when making decisions about the appropriateness of activities for inclusion in the school program:

  • The activity should have a secular purpose.

  • The activity should neither advance nor inhibit religion.

  • The activity must not foster an excessive entanglement of "government" with religion.

We strive to ensure that all information included in our DEIB Calendar is accurate and up-to-date. However, we recognize that it may not capture all significant events and observances related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We welcome suggestions for additional events and observances to be included in future updates.

As a reminder, the school district and school personnel may not discriminate on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, color, national origin, ethnic background, disability, religion, or any other protected or arbitrary criteria as provided by other District Policy and Civil Rights Law Section 40-c.

The inclusion of specific events and observances does not imply endorsement by the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District.
