HF-L Celebrates Board of Education During School Board Recognition Week
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District recognized its nine Board of Education members during Tuesday night's Board meeting at Lima Primary School in honor of School Board Recognition Week, Oct. 12-16.
The meeting included the presentation of “Because of You,” a video highlighting the impact of the Board's work on the students and opportunities that make HF-L special. The video recognizes how the Board's decisions help shape the district and support student success.
The district is also celebrating its Board members throughout the week with a social media superhero campaign. Each of the nine members is featured in an individual video showcasing a unique “superpower” that reflects their strengths and contributions to the Board. The campaign offers a fun way to recognize the people who help guide HF-L's future.
Recognized by the New York State School Boards Association, School Board Recognition Week promotes awareness of the important work performed by local school board members. Board members help establish policies, set district priorities and make decisions that support students, staff and families.
HF-L's nine Board of Education members and their years of service are:
• Stephanie Templeton — 16 years
• Carol Bellavia — 14 years
• David Francis — 10 years
• Caralyn Ross — 9 years
• Kelli Eberle — 5 years
• Chris Neff — 5 years
• Lynley Guckian — 3 years
• David Youngblut — 1 year
• Julie Masterson — First year
Public schools play a vital role in our communities, and school board members dedicate significant time to learning about issues, considering different perspectives and making decisions on behalf of students and schools.
During School Board Recognition Week, HF-L thanks all nine Board of Education members for their service, thoughtful leadership and commitment to the district. Their work helps create the opportunities that allow HF-L students to learn, grow and succeed.
